Updates: Lessons and Inspiration Coming Soon

Hi.  Just wanted to drop a few lines to give you an update about my blog.  The Back to School season has been really tough for me, especially with how busy I’ve been.  There are a lot of changes going on in my life that I can not wait to share.

This past year (August 2017-now), has been really tough for me.  I have been dealing with a lot of challenging situations over the past year. In life, we go through many seasons, that really resemble the natural seasons of weather.  I am definitely in a winter season and I’m not sure of when it will end.  The good news is that every season has a end date, and so does mine.  Whenever we go through challenges, there are lessons that can be learned and inspiration to gain and share with others. My hope is that I will be able to share and inspire others through my life.

I am extremely busy!  I am shocked to even be writing this sentence because my work schedule is drastically reduced, as I am currently working on a transition plan for my career.  For years now, I have been unhappy with my current occupation and I most recently decided to pursue a path in-field for a much needed boost to my motivation.  My unhappiness has also stirred up a desire to go after other dreams that have taken a back seat to responsibilities over the last 18 years.  I am so excited to announce that I am pursuing my dream goals and as a result I have returned to school for further training and development.

There are people who assume that when a person has several dreams or trades, they are not stable and are “a jack of all trades”.  Although, this can be the case with some, it is also important to remember that people are also multi-talented and I would even dare say that God can bless you with multiple gifts and talents.  My goal, has always been to pursue every gift that I possess and this year, I am going for it.

As my life continues to evolve, so will my blog, seeing that it is a lifestyle blog.  My goal is to make sure that my blog is authentic to my life and that I share the most important parts of my life. I hope that you will continue to follow me as I muster up the courage to share my journey.  Right now, my journey is rough and ragged but I am gaining many insights into my personal and spiritual growth and development.  When life hits you hard, you have to learn how to progress through the challenges.  I have learned many lessons, one being,  that our lives are not just for us.

At my church this month, we are currently participating in 21 Days of Prayer and through prayer, we are to find  what God wants us to do, in an effort to “Live Sent”.  Under the theme “Do Something”, we are seeking God for the “something”.  Our pastors often use the term “live sent” as a slogan that speaks to the purpose of every Christian, which is that we live our lives on a mission for God.  Throughout my tough season, I became a self-centered and distracted by the problems in my life. Our theme at church this month has caused me to reevaluate my life, to become more “Jesus centered”. Instead of being so focused on myself, my goals, and desires, I am trying to be more focused on the needs of others around me, moving me to action by inspiration of the Holy Spirit.  My “do something” is this blog.  I hope to be able to post at least 2 times a month, focusing on more inspirational posts, as I continue to grow through this difficult season.  Hopefully you will continue with me, and find my journey to be helpful in your own journey.
